Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Recipe by  
"I've always loved the taste of a good Stroganoff, but I hated the expense and preparation of beef tips or steak or roast beef to make it. So I created my own creamy Stroganoff."

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no pink shows, about 5 minutes; drain fat.
  3. Mix brown gravy, cream cheese, and mushrooms with hamburger, stirring until cream cheese melts. Add milk, sour cream, and mushroom soup to cooked pasta. Blend hamburger mixture with pasta.

DIRECTIONS

  1. In heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt.
  2. Cook to hard-crack stage (300°F) stirring constantly and watching carefully.
  3. Immediately pour into ungreased 13"x9" pan.
  4. Cool until hard.
  5. Melt chocolate over hot, but not boiling water.
  6. Spread over toffee; sprinkle with nuts, pressing them into chocolate.
  7. Let stand 2-3 hours or chill 30 minutes.
  8. Break into bite-size pieces.
